Dr. Marc Zieben grew up in Houston, Texas. After attending Texas A&M University, (home of the fightin’ Texas Aggies), he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science in 1980. He received a veterinary science degree in 1982 and then earned his doctor of veterinary medicine degree in 1984. His future employer and mentor, Dr. Gerald Parker, Texas A&M class of ‘43, helped Dr. Zieben get started at Colonies North Animal Hospital. In 1990, Dr. Zieben and his wife, Morna, purchased the practice from Dr. Parker, and in 2001, Dr. Zieben moved his practice to Vance Jackson, renaming it Huebner Oaks Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Zieben is happily married to his wife, Morna Zieben, and they have two wonderful children, Jacob and Sarah. They also have a labrador retriever, “Max,” four cats (“Nike,” “Crystal,” “Fritz” and “Jack”), as well as “Sydney,” a ball python snake. Oh, and let’s not forget “Fred,” their African spurred tortoise. In his spare time, Dr. Zeiben enjoys spending time with his family, practicing martial arts, scuba diving, kayaking, reading, salt water fishing, and hiking.
He is a member of the Bexar County Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association and American Veterinary Medical Association. His veterinary interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, ultrasound, and endoscopy.
